ในวันที่ 6 Feb ที่ผ่านมา Oracle ได้ออก Oracle Linux 6 ที่ผนวกกับ 11g พร้อมทั้งการ support แบบ Oracle Linux support subscriptioin ซึ่งเป็น Model เดี่ยวกับ RHEL และในอีกไม่นานนี้จะ สร้าง RPMs โดย yum Server ขี้นเป็น Public เพื่อยืดหยุ่นในการใช้งานอีกด้วย

จริงๆ แล้ว Oracle ได้ พัฒนา Oracle Build เข้ากับ RHEL4 โดยการผนวกเข้ากันได้อย่างลงตัว และง่ายต่อการติดตั้ง
โดยเรียก Oracle's Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel เป็นต้นมากระทั้งปัจจุบัน ถึงแม้ในตลาดระดับสูงจะยังไม่เติบโตนักเพราะยังติดกับรูป แบบเดิม แต่ในระดับ SMEs เติมโตเป็นอย่างมาก

ext4 file system
The ext4 or fourth extended filesystem replaces ext3 as the default filesystem in Oracle Linux 6.
